These days, braces aren’t what they used to be. Forget big and clunky. Today’s metal and clear braces are barely there. So getting braces needn’t mean losing your confidence. We’ll work with you to find a solution that delivers a balance of discreet looks, comfort and results.
The best way to decide if braces – or any of our other treatment options – are for you is to book an appointment with one of our specialist orthodontists.
Metal braces can be customised with colours and with up to 20 to choose from you never have to have the same combination throughout your treatment.
Clear braces (or invisible braces) offer the benefits of metal braces but they appear invisible.
Lingual Braces – Incognito
Another option for braces are those placed behind the teeth (or lingual surface). Lingual braces have all the benefits of braces but they are truly invisible as nobody can see them.
For many, one of the biggest reasons for avoiding the steps towards a great smile is dealing with unwanted attention to traditional braces while you’re undergoing treatment. Invisalign® is the answer, offering comfort, convenience and confidence.
As Platinum providers we have years of experience using Invisalign. If you want to know if you are suitable for this type of treatment it is best to contact us for an appointment so we can assess your whether this type of treatment is right for you.
Suresmile is technology that allows our orthodontists to custom design your orthodontic wires.
Using a 3D scan of your teeth in treatment your ideal smile is digitally designed by your orthodontist.
From this, a precise set of customised wires is then bent by a robot, with multiple individual bends moving your teeth precisely into place. This system acts as an alternative to your orthodontist placing individual bends in your wires over a series of appointments.
In some cases this technology can reduce the number of wire changes needed during your treatment, reducing the number appointments needed and your overall treatment time. Your orthodontist will determine if this treatment option is suitable for you.
No more messy impressions!
At MyOrtho our favourite new technology means we no longer to take ‘moulds’ for your orthodontic treatment. Our 3D intra-oral scanners are able to create digital printed models of your teeth without all the usual gooey, messy fuss of a traditional dental impression.
A 3D scan is super quick and non-invasive and is well tolerated by everyone, including our smallest and most anxious of patients.
The high level of accuracy of these scans allows them to be utilised in many areas of orthodontic treatment including for Invisalign, Suresmile wires and custom retainers after treatment.
Airway assessment – During the examination we assess the airways. If we believe there are any issues that are outside our field of expertise you may be offered a referral to discuss these issues with a qualified ENT (ear, nose and throat) doctor.
Timely intervention can also reduce the need for extractions in crowded cases. Several orthodontic conditions can benefit from early intervention.
When more than orthodontics is involved necessary referrals are sought. We work closely with a trusted team of dental and allied health professionals to ensure you are always treated by the person most qualified to do the job.
If you are an adult considering orthodontic treatment, good on you for taking the first step towards improving your teeth and smile.
